What is the mobile payment?
Mobile Payment is a phone only financial service with or without formal banking accounts. All banking activities starting from money savings, payments for goods and services, cash receipts, money transfers, etc can be carried out on mobile devices, 24/7.

What is EzPayAfrica?

EzPayAfrica is a convenient, secure and innovative way for ALL mobile telephone subscribers in Nigeria to send money, buy goods & pay for services, transfer money via the convenience and safety of their mobile phones. It is designed for existing Bank customers that will like to conduct transactions in a convenient manner or those without a formal Bank account, currently unbanked and are desirous of conducting financial services in a safe and secure manner.

WHEN WILL IT BE COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE?
The service is currently undergoing a pilot in selected towns in Lagos, Port Harcourt, Ibadan and Ogun States. It will be available Nationwide in coming weeks. In each selected community, ZINTERNET is partnering with quality agents to serve as outpost as Mobile payments outlets as mandated by the Regulator, Central Bank of Nigeria.

In the month of April, EzPayAfrica  will be available to all 80 million mobile subscribers  in selected states Nationwide in partnership with leading Banks, National Postal offices, Interswitch ATM, Micro Finance Banks and Agents. The service will be extended nationwide in the second quarter of 2012. Non mobile subscribers can also use the service at all authorized partner locations nationwide.

HOW DO I REGISTER FOR EZPAY?
You can register for an EzPayAfrica account at any of our authorized agents in    your community or state.
Step 1 – Visit any authorized EzPayAfrica agent. 
Step 2 – Present your names and mobile number.
Step 3 – The agent will capture your details on the system.
Step 5 – You will receive an IVR call asking you to put your six (6) digits PIN number
Step 4 – Use your PIN to complete registration and Remember to safeguard your PIN at all times.
Step 5 – You will receive a welcome SMS alert that your EzPayAfrica is now Live.

Step 6 – You can now commence using your EzPayAfrica Account immediately!!!

CAN I CHANGE/UPDATE MY DETAILS LATER ON?
Yes. At super agent locations network?
YES. By visiting any agent in your community and presenting new documentations to support the profile update.

DO I NEED THE SAME DOCUMENTS AS REQUIRED BY A STANDARD BANK ACCOUNT ?

It depends on the level of services you require and suits your financial needs. Without any form of ID, You can transact from your mobile or at any agent locations up to:
N3,000 at any time,10 times a Day, giving a total of N30,000 maximum transaction for a day.
If you wish to conduct transaction more than the above, you will require an acceptable ID, proof of address and mobile number. The amount permissible at this level is:
Maximum of N10,000 at a single transaction, 10 times a day, giving a total of N100,000 in all.
For transactions above this category, you will require documentations that are same as savings/current account requirements of Micro Finance Bank or Commercial Bank.
Maximum of N100,000 at a single transaction, 10 times a day, giving a total of N1,000,000 in all.




CAN I USE MY EZPAYAFRICA ACCOUNT OUTSIDE NIGERIA TO PAY FOR SERVICES LOCALLY IN NIGERIA OR BUY LOCAL AIRTIME?
As long as you have Network access on your mobile phone or you are a roaming subscriber of any of the network, you will be able to conduct any of the mobile payment services aside cash – in and Cash-out at agent locations which are only limited to Nigeria.


DO I NEED TO HAVE A BANK ACCOUNT TO USE EZPAYAFRICA?

NO. EzPayAfrica is designed to meet the needs of the unbanked without a formal Bank account with a Micro Finance or commercial Bank. The money on your EzPayAfrica account is kept in a Bank and managed on your behalf by the scheme operator, ZINTERNET.

HOW DO I KNOW THE CHARGES FOR EZPAYAFRICA?
Service charges and Tariffs are Transparent and are available at all Agents partner locations. If you are in doubt at any given time, call our customers service helpline or visits the website at: http://www.ezpayafrica.com.

HOW DOES EZPAYAFRICA WORK?
For starters, you will need to register and load Money cash at any agent location in your community or outside your community. You need to locate an agent and ask for cash loading services. Upon acceptance by the agent and processing, you will receive a confirmatory SMS for this transaction. You may then commence transactions like sending from your own mobile, pay for goods and services from your mobile phone.

To withdraw cash from your EzPayAfrica wallet, visit an agent, ask for withdrawal services and upon acceptance, present your received voucher or transfer the value you want to withdraw to the Agent and transaction will be completed with cash amount handed over to you. .

CAN I PAY FOR SERVICES LIKE DSTV, HITV and OTHER SERVICES?

Yes. From the comfort of your mobile phone if you are a registered user but if in doubt of your understanding of how it works, visit any agent in your community that will be ready to help you in processing the payment for your desired service.


CAN IT WORK ACROSS MOBILE NETWORK?
Yes, EzPayAfrica works on all these available mobile networks (MTN, GLO, ZAIN & ETISALAT) in Nigeria for now, other CDMA providers will be available soon.

DO I NEED TO CHANGE MY HANDSET OR ACQUIRE A NEW DEVICE?
NO. You do not need any new Handset or buy any device to use EzPayAfrica. It is immediately compatible with all mobile phone handsets in use in Nigeria or any part of the world.

HOW DO I IDENTIFY AGENTS?
They are branded in EzPayAfrica colours and ALL agents have Standard AGENT ID placed on the outlets. If in doubt of any agents, call customer center for clarification.

CAN I SEND MONEY OUT OF NIGERIA WITH EZPAYAFRICA?
NO. At this point, the regulator, Central Bank of Nigeria only enabled local transfers of money.

IF I DON’T HAVE A PHONE, CAN I USE EZPAYAFRICA?
YES. If your mobile phone is damaged, lost or you don’t have a mobile phone, ALL you need is visit any agent to transact via EzPayAfrica to any desired party in Nigeria.

ARE ALL USERS REQUIRED TO REGISTER BEFORE USE OF SERVICE?
NO. You may choose to register to enable access to the EzPayAfrica services which empowers the account holder to initiate transactions directly from the mobile phone to pay for services, transfers to others. Unregistered users are only limited to cash withdrawal from Agents.

WHAT HAPPENS IF MY PHONE IS MISSING?
In event of a missing phone, all you need to do is contact your mobile operator and report your missing phone, retrieve your line and contact EzPayAfrica contact centre once you have a replacement SIM. Your last balance remains on the SIM upon retrieval. Unless your PIN is compromised you will lose your balance in your EzPayAfrica account. Retaining your account will be dependent on your retrieval of old missing number.

Our agents are strategically located in towns / cities where we operate. You may also contact the service centre for agent locations in your community.

AM I LIMITED TO CONDUCT TRANSACTIONS AT AGENT OUTLET WHERE I REGISTERED ONLY?
NO. You will be able to carry out transactions at any EzPayAfrica Agency outlet; anywhere they are located in Nigeria.

HOW DO I KNOW THE FEES CHARGED FOR TRANSACTIONS?

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MY NORMAL ‘BANK ACCOUNT’ and a ‘MOBILEMONEY ACCOUNT’?
The normal bank account solution relies on the banks platform and processes and the phone may be one of the channels to access the account, Therefore – Mobile Banking.

However a “mobile money account” solution has e-money is issued by the bank- to be transacted on the phone and regulated by Central Bank of Nigeria.

HOW DO I UNBLOCK MY ACCOUNT?
You can call our Contact Centre to unblock your account. You will be asked security questions to verify your identity. Your PIN will then be reset or regenerated depending on the reason(s) why it was blocked.

 

AM I CHARGED FOR THE SMS ALERTS?
No, you are not charged for the SMS Alerts. Transaction SMS Alerts have been designed to inform the customer on any transactions carried out on the account.

 

HOW CAN MY MOTHER AND SIBLINGS IN THE VILLAGE USE THIS SERVICE?
EzPayAfrica is very simple to use as long as you know how to load airtime into your own mobile phone. It is as simple as 1234.

HOW DO I MANAGE MY PIN? IS IT SAME WITH MY PHONE PIN?
NO. Your EzPayAfrica PIN is secure as long as you can memorize it and NOT share it with friends and families. Transaction History is not stored on the phone or SMS. Never give away your Account PIN. If you have reason to believe your Account PIN has been compromised, you can change the
